       Pastor's Biography

Rev. Raymond E. Allen, Sr. was born December 10, 1959, in Houma, LA.  His Parents, the late Raymond Allen and Laferne Banks Allen, raised him and his sisters, Victoria and Terri, in a Christian home where God was always first.  Under the guidance of his grandparents, Leroy Banks, Sr. and Ophelia Banks, he was taught to learn God's work and to always seek the Lord.

He is a 1977 graduate of South Terrebonne High School in Houma, LA.  He continued his education at Southern University, Baton Rouge, LA and received his Bachelor Degree in 1982.  His education continued with the Houma Extension of Christian Education and also the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary of New Orleans, LA.

He and his lovely wife, the former Cheryl Wilson, were joined in Holy Matrimony in 1989 and are the parents of five beautiful children:  Angelisa Nicelle, Raymond Jr., Chevon Cherri, Abbie Suzan and Adam Micheal-John.

He was called to preach the Gospel and was licensed in 1990 and ordained in 1992.  He has been a pastor for eleven years.

Raymond Allen, Sr. became pastor of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in August 2001, where God has led him to teach, preach, and to reach God's people with love.  Rev. Allen currently teaches at Plaquemine High School as the Band Instructor.

Rev. Allen exemplifies the type of leader who firmly believes that the most important thing is to learn that God comes first and everything else will be added.
