"We Believe Reading Is The Key That Can Unlock The Door To Children's Dreams And Unlimited Potential"

Rev. AllenRev. Raymond Allen - Project Director
After years of seeing the need for a Summer Program at Shiloh Missionary Church, Rev. Allen continued to pray for the program and he asked the congregation for $500 seed money. Rev. Allen knew that this was not near enough to run the type of program that he had in mind, and many people laughed at his efforts to start a program with so little money. The money was allocated by the church and at about the same time, Councilwoman Ray Helen Lawrence applied for a government grant to the Children's Defense Fund to establish a Freedom School at Shiloh. A grant totaling several thousand dollars was approved for the 2007 Summer Program at Shiloh and again for the 2008 Summer Program. The prayers of Rev. Allen have been answered by God and the work of Councilwoman Lawrence.
